Idle Flight began in the Summer of 2005 when Travis Malone released the ‘Towering Above EP’ under the alias “Idleflight” on 20kbps Records. He followed this release with a two track scape/ambient techno EP entitled “Songs for Gligario (Mvmnts I & II).”

Malone then teamed up with Wayne Zingery and Zachary Stevens to form Fourth For Action, which was a project aimed at combining rock and ambient music. Following the release of the “Mediocrity Game EP,” and the disbandment of Fourth For Action, Malone presented Zingery with the idea of collaborating in order to form what was - in their minds - the most beautiful music they could.

The duo then hit the studio for 6 months and conceived thier debut EP entitled “Point Of Reference,” which was released on LacedMilk Technologies in January of 2007. The band released thier second EP, entitled “What’s So Good About Design?,” in August of 2008, which featured the vocals of Wendy Jernigan and a remix by local Austinite Drum and Bass DJ, DJ Darq.

In October of 2011, the duo officially released the single “Made of Ether,” on their new label’s first compilation album, “Posters On Walls Records: volume one,” which is available for free at:
