Biography

Ideamen, from Chicago’s south side, are an intense musical experience, best seen live to appreciate. This piano driven act has toured throughout much of the U.S., growing their fan base & putting on a show that turns 1st time spectators into instant fans. Their first two releases, the currently out of print EP “Progress” & “May You Live In Interesting Times” are considered staples in the experimental post rock scene.

Ideamen is DIY; pressing their own merch, acting as their own publicists & recording / mixing their own music & handling their own van repair. Ideamen is currently recording their second full length release, due late summer, 2012 - under the Rotten Records label, an indie out of Los Angeles, CA.

Ideamen’s mission is to give their audience far more than the typical rock show. Ideamen transcends the status quo as they expend every bit of their energy on the stage. The show almost always includes a barrage of balloons & strange mash-ups of cover songs ranging from The Beatles, Radiohead, Mr. Bungle, Pantera & Tori Amos. People seem to love losing themselves in the moment of watching the band perform.

Ideamen are on tour in July 2012 to film a video for their upcoming album. Be sure to follow the band on Facebook & Twitter.

I'm pretty sure Ideamen's latest album is on Demonoid, which is also now allowing registration. However, you should really buy the album. It's definitely worth the money.

@avantish: People say they can't find any more songs, because pirated downloads for May You Live In Interesting Times is pretty much inexistent. I think that if people actually uploaded this album online in more convenient places, they'd have much more fans. I'd love to buy the album, but I've only really listened to Progress and a bit of whats on their Myspace, so I don't know if it's really worth it.
