21 Sep 2007, 15:18 by PersettiThese are the original albums I have bought on cd. I don't have a huge collection and that's because I never "blind buy" any album without hearing it first unless It's a new album from one of my favourite bands or if I'm really sure It's going to rock.
Of course the collection is much much bigger if you count all the albums I have obtained by other means.
In other words, I like to keep my music collection "clean" of crappy albums (except the few albums I have bought before making this decicion) and buy only good ones.

18 Dec 2006, 03:46 by SpielmeisterA while ago Century Media announced that Iced Earth's Alive in Athens DVD was coming out this year. Although Iced Earth is no longer signed with Century Media, the record company still gains money by selling Iced Earth products.
After IE broke with Century Media, the company released: The Blessed and the Damned, a "best of" of all Iced Earth's career with Century Media.
Century Media was convinced that the DVD version of Alive in Athens would mean money. That's why after seven years of the recording of Alive in Athens, the DVD is here.
Right at Iced Earth's official web site, Jon Schaffer posted a message regarding this DVD. He stated that Century Media ignored Jon Schaffer, who forbade the release of the DVD. Jon mentioned several factors that made the DVD different from what it really was.
I saw te DVD today and I have to say something about it. First of all, the tracklist isn't complete. You'll see that there's no "Slave to the Dark"…
11 Dec 2006, 18:49 by cooperaaI've thrown together a playlist on my iPod of several albums that I want to listen to. While at work this week, I am going to listen through the playlist on random album mode and see what comes up. Here's the log:
Christmas Eve and Other Stories: Ugh, I can't say I'm in the mood for Christmas music yet... it's sort of rainy. This would've been good a few days ago when we had a nice layer of snow everywhere.
Mezmerize: A pretty fun album. Feels like it's been since summer since I've heard some System.
The Whore's Trophy: Skipped a bunch of these and pretty mediocre :P Should probably remove this from the playlist so I don't get stuck listening to it again.
The Archaic Abattoir: This one just flew by! All of a sudden it was over. I do remember Blood Fixing The Bled and The Gangrenous Epitaph. Good stuff.
High Society: I had high hopes for this, but it turned out to be pretty boring and I ended up skipping several tracks. Snore.
23 Sep 2006, 02:59 by Weapon_Xas i Thought, Century Media (again) will release Iced Earth material without Jon Schaffer's concern/support/supervision :S
And I said "again" because there was another "release" of Iced Earth made by CM , after the band signed with SPV/Steamhammer, the same way they're doing with Alive In Athens DVD. I'm talking about: The Blessed and the Damned , a greatest hits released by the label without any support from Schaffer. in this particular case, the musician could do very few about it, CM still has some rights over the songs from Jon and company, so they (Century Media) can release any records they want with songs from them. The same case repeats this year with the forthcoming DVD, and knowing that the marriage Schaffer-Century Media wasn't the best back after the The Night Of Stormrider only that Jon is considering seriously to put some charges to the label.
More info: read this interview to Jon Schaffer made by Bravewords.com and his message at IcedEarth.com's band board
31 Aug 2006, 14:10 by Weapon_XAccording to Metal-temple.com, Century Media(?!) will release this next October 31 a new Iced Earth DVD entitled... Alive in Athens. this 2-disc DVD will contain both shows at Rodon club in Athens, January 1999. More info coming soon.
but some of you may ask: why Century Media releases this and not SPV/Steamhammer ? well, this is simple. by changing from a label to another, the former label keeps the distribution rights for all the albums recorded in that period, so it can do whatever it wants with those songs even release a Greatest hits [The Blessed and the Damned]. so to trespass the rights to the actual label, the band has to talk to the label to do so... but knowing the declarations of Jon about Century Media maybe that will take longer than any of us may think.
despite of this... WHAT A FUCKING SHITTY AWESOME NEWS AT LAST THIS CONCERT COMES OUT ON DVD AFTER MANY YEARS!!! :')
