Biography

Japan (2007 – present)

Heavy/Power Metal band from Japan with some progressive elements, huge Neo-Classical influences and mostly Instrumental formed in Japan, 2007. The band is led by Hiroyasu “Iron” Chino a guitarist who also plays in Japanese heavy metal band Lightning. He had a old band/project named Heavy Metal Kingdom (before starting IRON ATTACK!) where he was the vocalist and played guitar.

In IRON ATTACK! he does all the programmings and song-writings himself but has members playing in studio-recordings, but he does also play in various temporary and other short-lasting projects, aswell as being playing as guest guitarist in other doujin bands.

All his releases (in both IRON ATTACK! and Lightning) are also self-released through his own label named IRON-CHINO (after his circle’s name).

He mostly focus on instrumental tracks but has several albums considering female vocals and also songs in other album including male vocalists (as JUN, The Stahl and Yuma in example).
Recently he’s sung the lyrics himself on the second track “Into The Shade” on his album Concerto of the Scarlet Elements.

Much of the band’s album art are parodies of other well known metal bands, such as Judas Priest and Children of Bodom.

Iron Attack releases their stuff through their own, self-titled, record label. Iron Attack has released 24 full-length studio albums (+ four “Best-Of”s/Partly “Best-Of”s) up to date (+ two splits), so all in all, 30 releases.
Also quite part of their songs (all songs in his own-made releases so to say) are tributes/covers to songs of the well know series of Touhou.

Besides having a huge Neo-Classical influence in his music he also takes parts of other well-known metal songs into his own tracks but with his an own interpretation mixed with the touhou-cover.

Live performance of Mr. Chino himself along with two different line-ups for each disc; parted into two DVD discs with IRON ATTACK! and LIGHTNING sides respectively. Abecky is featuring as a guest and sings during one song 'Dead Night Blind' (which is everyone's favorite :P). まいなすいょん sings on most IRON ATTACK's songs, but also IRON CHINO shows his vocal skills during a few songs (:P). Also, JUN sings during some of the songs (for example SPARKING) but also couples up on LIGHTNING's lineup during a few songs and sings with former LIGHTNING vocalist 'Robert Waterman'. It's sure is a very nice DVD with long playtime/two DVDs and some other nice stuff which I think everyone should get :)

Well... they do cover songs from the Touhou game series (so it's mostly not from famous American songs), but he's made some arrangements that feature notable melodies from Iron Maiden and such... but it's not that common. Anyways, I think you should check out his discography as a whole as (with me) I love all his albums, especially Concerto Of The Scarlet Elements and Poltergeist (you can begin with those if you haven't already got them). Happy listening! ^_^

Well i have no problem with guitar arrangements of allready exsisting songs. But some one them tend to have loads of elements of famous american songs. I can understand if its a cover or new arragement of a american song, but if isnt why take compleet melodies from it? Anyway, i heard the album Bullet Wind was great., any other good releases? They seem to release alot...

@Angeltearx: well, you're up with (in my opinion) best touhou-metal arranger as of yet... so he does not play other than that (so no original songs, just arranges). But... if you want some stuff from him that is original... then check out his own melodic/power metal band LIGHTNING (they do what you would call original I think (?))

Someone suggested this band to me so im searching for some songs. Does anyone have some great original songs of Iron Attack. Allready found some songs but they seem to be kinda ripped of famous American metal. For example the song Cavalrymaid. Why do they do that, and are there other songs that sound similar to american songs? I just want some good original songs.
