I Speak In Calculus was originally formed as a 5 piece in Southeastern Michigan in 2008 consisting of Ivan Fargo on guitars, John McKinley on synth/keys/samples Kevin Beattie on drums, Kurt Girdwood on bass, and Zei Lakeman covering vocals.

In 2011, I Speak In Calculus resurfaced with John and Ivan assuming all instrument writing and responsibilities.

A free album download of all the prevoiusly recorded work as a 5 piece was released featuring some remixed and remastered works from 08-10 along with a few unfinished songs that were never released at the time. This album was titled “The Past” and was posted on their bandcamp.

Their first proper full length titled “Giant Ash of the Earth” will be released May 7th, 2013.
