Indie pop group I Kissed Charles is the hottest newcomer of the low lands. These youngsters from nearby Meppel have release their official debut album in 2009. “This Is Not Romantic” is an extremely fresh record filled with compact and catchy indiepop songs.

The young band created a contemporary document with a mature sound. The recordings were made in Ireland with Phil Hayes (Bell X1) and in ‘Studio Zeezicht’ in Spaarnwoude with the renowned Dutch producer Rutger Hoedemaekers…

I Kissed Charles is all about the young but very sexy singer Charlot Henzen, who also plays synths. She and guitarist Brian Esselbrugge are the musical brain of the band, who are completed by the great rhythm section; Marco Muhring on drums and Tom Bloembergen on bass.

The band is signed with the Dutch indie label Goomah Music, which will release the debut together with quality labels Excelsior and V2. Chrysalis Music signed a worldwide publishing deal with these youngsters.

In the fall of 2009 the band released their new single ‘Let’s French Tonight’‘. Katerina Plevkova made the video.

    Goed optreden gister in Hengelo. Heb me laten verrassen, kende ze nog niet, maar gister erg netjes! I Kissed Charles moest het spits afbijten en was mijns inziens de beste van de drie bands gister!
