Biography

Brisbane, Australia (2005 – 2011)

I Heart Hiroshima was a three piece act from Brisbane, Australia; originally formed in July of 2005 at a house party. Their members were Matthew Somers (guitar/vocals), Susie Patten (drums/vocals) and Cameron Hawes (guitar).

The band developed a unique sound from their ‘bass-less’ band structure of two guitars and drums, combined with shared vocal duties from all three members.

The band released two albums before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2011. Susie now lives in Berlin and performs under the name Rodeo.

No idea they had broken up, sad. Anyone missing their style might want to check out Johnny Foreigner.

I only found out about them because I've been obsessing with Love of Diagrams...other than being Aussie, the two bands are nothing alike and I am so happy that the "similar artists" thing was so incredibly wrong....am I glad that I got pointed in their direction...this is such a fabulous band...any other great stuff along these lines Aussie or otherwise?

It must be really tough to be in a band so talented and yet get no respect whatsoever.
