V Someone asked Kim that question. He said "Indeed. No release date yet for various reasons. First we need to close another chapter before we can re-open this old wound. As always, patience will be rewarded." So basically if I can theorize, they'll perform Svartkonst a lil more, and then release Svensk vemod. We hope.
Not sure how I feel about Svartkonst. I'll have to give it more listens I suppose. I feel like it is more or less the same song 5 times. It's cohesive, and I wouldn't say I'm entirely underwhelmed. Maybe that was their intention. It's addicting regardless, and it has me looking forward to other releases.
I browsed the Facebook page of Agonia and the comments under the news about the pre-order of Svartkonst, there someone asked about the release of the two previous albums (Skogens Hjärta and Svenskt Vemod), to where Agonia responded they have no idea. But I sure hope that Svenskt Vemod gets its release, I want to hear the transition from the sound of Gråtoner and Rakbladsvalsen (<-- my favourite era) to the new sound of Hypothermia.
Not sure about that either. From the Agonia page, Kim is quoted: "It is with great joy and pride that we announce this union for our three upcoming works of ritualistic minimalism!" So it sounds to me like they'll release 3 albums with Agonia records. One being Svarkonst of course. Maybe another will be Svenskt Vemod, and then something else.
I too made the pre-order for Svartkonst some weeks ago. I'm excited about the new album. Wasn't Svenskt Vemod supposed to be released too? Or was the news that were posted around the time when Hypothermia signed to Agonia recs only considering Svartkonst?
Yup, it's scheduled to be released in May. Pre-ordered a copy today. The songs translate to occult-sounding stuff. I hope it's more raw and suicidal/negative than my intuition is saying... although I doubt I'll be disappointed by anything they release... it's Hypothermia, after all.
And I suppose, but again, that's mainly due to all the shoegaze I listen too. And pretty much I did read about that, which would make sense considering how different the two songs sound comparing it to Skogens hjarta.
Yeah, the album is first released as double LP and if the LP version gets enough orders, then it will be pressed on other formats. I'm very sure the album will get many orders. I don't know about the shoegaze sound as I define shoegaze differently, but maybe there could be some hints of shoegaze, I can't say for sure as we haven't heard the whole package. The official statement from Hypothermia about the sound is: "...closes the gap of evolution between Rakbladsvalsen & Gråtoner as well as the progress from there to "Skogens Hjärta" which in fact is the 5th album and it will make more sense to some when "Svenskt Vemod" is available..."
Maybe, after all, I think someone posted that they were gonna try to print it on vinyl discs and such. And let's hope so man, me neither. I dunno, but for me (but I think it's because I listen to too much Lantlos and Amesoeurs), Svenskt Vemod sounds more shoegazy at that.
If I remember correctly, the music for Svenskt Vemod is ready and mastered. At least I remember reading so from the official resources.
Maybe they have issues on printing the DLP or in distribution. But I really hope it will be released on some point of 2015. I've been waiting the album ever since they released the 2 preview songs in January of 2012.
Well..I checked back at my old post asking them, which was around November of last year. I got a reply (either from Kim or someone who's in charge of the page) and they said this and I quote: "It will be available in some form for our mini-tour with Svarti Loghin in March. More news will be posed before then when there are some." Isn't the tour with Svarti Loghin been done already?
I think it could be because of the poor postal system, after all, it is being delivered by a band who's not on a label. Of course that's just my theory after all. And well there IS Discogs, they have two copies of the EP, but I've waiting off to buy it since I don't have a vinyl player.
v After reading about other people experiences with online ordering in general (not in this Hypothermia case) I think the problem why some people haven't got their orders is poor postal system, packages gets lost during their way to the buyers. If you browse Hypothermia's Facebook page on year 2013, there was written a good response about this matter. I don't know is it possible to link Facebook posts (to be honest, I don't know how to use Facebook, I don't have an account there) but the post was written on 22 of August 2013. Of course everyone takes their own concludes about the written post and chooses to believe or not to believe it, but I personally want to believe Kim is not a rip-off, after all, there is people who received their orders.
v I think it's because of Kim is way way to busy. Either that or the cutting has caused him to become drowsy. I seriously want to get the Gråtoner vinyl, it's possibly one of the best EPs Hypothermia has done.
To add to the previous conversation, I ordered Gråtoner vinyl directly from Hans on last week. I received the vinyl extremely fast and in perfect condition (still sealed). So I can say that you can order confidently and safely from him. Not sure about Kim though, more people complaining on the Facebook page about not receiving their orders from previous years.
