Hypnogaja is an American rock band from Los Angeles, CA. The group is comprised of singer/songwriter Jason “ShyBoy” Arnold (who co-wrote/performed the songs “The Time Has Come” and “Shall Never Surrender” from the Capcom video game, The Devil May Cry 4), guitarist Jean-Yves “Jeeve” Ducornet (whose writing/production credits include songs for Santana), keyboardist Mark Nubar Donikian, drummer Adrian Barnardo, bassist Bryan Farrar and guitarist Abe Parker.
Founded in 1999 by Arnold, Donikian and former keyboardist Sean “Dr.” Brooks, Hypnogaja originated as an electronic studio project but evolved into a live band soon after forming, incorporating rock influences into the group’s initial electronic foundation. The band has toured consistently since 2004, performing hundreds of shows in the U.S. and Canada and opening for bands such as Shinedown, Saliva, 311, Cold and Godhead along the way.
In 2006, Hypnogaja recorded Acoustic Sunset: Live At The Longhouse, a live, acoustic album produced by singer/songwriter Wendy Waldman, composer of numerous hit songs, including “Save The Best For Last” by Vanessa Williams and “Fishin’ In The Dark” by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The band previously collaborated with Waldman on two songs - “Killing Time” and “Outside, Looking In” - from 2002’s Post-Hypnotic Stress Disorder. The latter song was featured as the end title of the NBC Movie Event, Carrie, a remake of the 1976 Brian DePalma film based on the classic Stephen King novel.
