About this album
The Crux is Hurt’s long awaited sixth studio album, produced by Hurt, engineered by Hurt’s Michael Roberts and mixed by John Kurzweg (Puddle Of Mud, Godsmack). The first single, ‘How We End Up Alone’ impacted Active Rock and Alternative Radio in January and embodies the introspective lyrics and soaring choruses that J. Loren, Hurt’s singer and founder, has been known for.
Loren is celebrated for running a sonic scale that includes towering vocal performances to pin-drop whispers, and the result is nothing short of 11 anthemic tracks that exemplify The Crux. Hurt has truly gotten to the heart of their art, and The Crux is nothing short of a symphonic masterpiece and a revelation with an ample number of singles that include ‘So When,’ ‘Eden,’ ‘Numbers,’ ‘Cuffed’ and what is sure to be the band’s first crossover single ‘Caught In The Rain.’
