Hunter Rose was a reaction to the changing scene in Grand Rapids, MI in the late 90’s. The members of GR based punk trio Just For Kicks decided to move in a new direction and embrace a more progressive sound. Their sound is hard to describe as it pulls in influences from many genres - punk, hardcore, emo, jazz, prog, etc. Later in life the group shuffled members and relocated to Lansing.
