Stars (5:07)
From You'd Prefer an Astronaut and 8 other releases
“Stars”, Champaign, Illinois space-rock band Hum’s signature song from their major label debut You’d Prefer An Astronaut (RCA / BMG), was a rock radio hit in 1995.
“Stars” seems to be a very influential song in the world of Alternative Rock - evidenced by cover versions recorded by bands including; Evergreen Terrace on Writers Block and Bleeeding Through from Fearless Record’s various artist compilation Punk Goes 90’s.
A few seconds of the distinctive, powerful guitar part from “Stars” was used as a dramatic coda in Cadillac’s 2008 CTS ads featuring Kate Walsh.
