Yeah, "Ghostbusters" sounds like "I Want a New Drug," but "I Want a New Drug" sounds like "Pop Muzik."

In an issue of Premiere Magazine, the Ghostbusters filmmakers admit to using the song "I Want A New Drug" as temporary background music in many scenes. They then said they made an offer to Huey Lewis and the News to write the main theme, but they refused. The filmmakers then provided Ray Parker Jr film footage--with the Huey Lewis song in the background--to aid Parker in writing the theme song.( "Who Ya Gonna Call? Ghostbusters Exclusive! Inside story of a comedy classic", Premiere Magazine, June, 2004).

Ghostbusters! ...seriously, the songs are very similar in structure, but they are different in a lot of ways.

fuck a bitch... this song's lyrics should be replaced entirely with cuss words... in the words of John Lennon "Imagine all the cuss words, not being properly utilized by shit-faced-cock-rockers of the future" this shout has been personally computer generated. get used... or get new

I don't need any drugs as long as I can listen to songs like this! Keep on rockin', Huey!

The only thing about 1984 that was worth listening to was Huey Lewis & The News. I think we all needed a new drug after that year. Only other artist to listen to in '84 was Springsteen. At least Courtney Cox looked good dancing in the dark.
