From 1964,even though I was a wee young lad,I remember it!.. My Old Man always had some 'Wolf in his collections..He liked Hubert Sumlin"s(RIP) famous riffs/12-bar blues! and Buddy Guy,on accoustic guitar! on this version,I remember him saying...For me tho,the song and the times of that era have evolved with these versions of "Killing Floor"..Think about it!!!..You had Jimi doing it early on circa 1965-66,as he sat in with Cream,The "Experience and finally,at "Monterrey Pop" in 'Summer '67 ..You had Led Zep doing "Floor" live in 1968-68..Early performance/live recordings of "Floor"eventually became(Led Zep II's) "The Lemon Song"..What did it for me,was Mike Bloomfield's "Electric Flag" with its intro irrelevance of "Floor" directed towards then-Prez LBJ--His speech was cut off amid Music and laughter(A few raspberries -" THHHHTTTT"-- thrown in for effect, too !!)..Heady times of youth gone bye!!!

The "killing floor" was the area of a slaughter house where the animals were actually killed. So by extension references to "the killing floor" in blues can mean any time, place or circumstances that are going to lead to violent (and probably lethal) confrontations e.g. a woman caught cheating on her man.
