Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady were part of Jefferson Airplane back in the 60's, but that was a blip in their musical careers if you ask most Tuna fans.

Their first album was recorded live at Berkeley in 1969.   • Some interesting trivia for anyone who cares: they went to their label with the name Hot Shit but had to change it to Hot Tuna when they were refused the name. In my mind Cassidy is eaily one of the greatest basists of all time, anyone who could follow Jorma's lead that precisely is amazing enough. He played a Winterland session with Hendrix in 69 and blew Jimi's mind, and mine.
