Pretty badass music, compared to a lot of lulzy satanic stuff.

@mrmichael0927: I don't think that "second generation of "purist" BM fans" you're referring to are pissed off, I think they refer to it as a joke and treat it in that way.

So, I guess Horde is just plain evil. Could you please tell me which guitar riff, vocal pattern, or drum beat you consider to be evil? I think that a lot of people here are missing the point. This album wasn't as much about the music as it was about creating a statement. Essentially, it boils down to Jayson Sherlock saying, "If people can use this kind of music to worship the devil, to accent individualism, or to emphasize a particular part of nature, then I can use it to espouse Christianity." That's my take on this album, regardless of how "good" or "bad" the music is. And you know, I think that he was quite successful, because there is now a second generation of "purist" BM fans that are still quite pissed off at this project.

I've never cared about lyrics, so whether this is Christian or Satanic or anything else doesn't really matter to me. Musically, this is enjoyable and I like it.

I Agree HORDE's lyrics are certainly no worse, IMO it's kind of cool because it is like you said contrary....

Wait? Now I haven't listened to black metal? Black metal is not obscure anymore, nor have it's lyrics been anything other than laughable. I'm not really a fan of Horde, but hell, its lyrics are certainly no worse than the typical black metal bands... It's all the same shit, just this time put into reverse. If the best comeback you have is I haven't listened to black metal, you really know how to talk out of your arse.

No one said Horde brought something new musically speaking but he did brought something different at the time. How could you say changing something is not an evolution? For better or worse BM has changed a lot, and that's not an opinion is a fact. BM is no longer the way it was supposed to be, or at least A LOT of people don't think that way.
