still backing my boys forever and ever.
Invicta is one of those albums that you just have to listen to a few times,
to realize the full impact of it.
They went through so much, and grew up so much in the time between releasing SSSF
and finally getting to make and release Invicta.
They just needed to get this deep dark album out.
and I whole-heartedly believe that the next thing they do
will be a beautiful blend of everything they've done in the past,
plus everything new they're going through right now.
This is their first full length album with Kevin as guitarist,
and Kyle as additional percussion and vocals.
I think this album was a nice introduction to the future of Hit The Lights.
Up until Invicta, every single song HTL put out was pure gold. I couldn't believe how seamless the transition was from Colin to Nick. Invincta isn't bad by any means, but I had the bar set so high for HTL after the first 2 albums, it's definitely a disappointment for me. It has a handful of good songs, but some songs are just plain boring. I'm really hoping they return to form on the next album.
The thing I liked about HtL's old albums is that they never slowed the pace down. It was just pure pop punk from start to finish. This is my only real complain with the new album, the harder songs are extremely good, but the soft ones give me pretty mixed feelings.
Invicta is beautiful! they've really grown up and shown exactly what they can do. It's really technical, and you can hear each member really shine in this album. It's not like any other Hit The Lights record yet, but it's still a genuine HTL record.
If you're not feeling it the first time around, listen to it again! It's one of those cds that will melt your face off the second or third time you listen to it.
I love my boys, and I think they did fantastic! <3
I'm liking what I'm reading here. I was planning on buying Invicta and most people here say it's good. Awesome. Also, I first started listening to HTL when Skip School came out so I actually prefer Nick's vocals.
