"Throes" is amazing. Take Coalesce, early-DEP, Converge and Botch, throw them in a blender, and you get Hero Destroyed. One of the best metalcore (remember that? it's an actual fusing of heavy metal and hardcore, not this idiotic melodic metalcore or deathcore BS) releases in recent memory.

Man, I had really high hopes for this, remembering the times when Relapse used to promote hardcore/grindcore bands that were outright extreme and forward-thinking for their times, e.g. The Dillinger Escape Plan, Uphill Battle or Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Now Hero Destroyed's EP isn't bad, but it sounds so coalescish it could just have been released 10 years ago - meaning it's the opposite of "forward". That applies to most of the old school death metal stuff which gets released on Relapse recently. - Ah, well, this might not be the right place for my complaints, but it just had to be said. Maybe the full-length is going to sound at least a bit special ..
