Helloween is a heavy/power/speed metal band from Germany founded in 1983 by members of Iron Fist and Powerfool. Helloween are known as major innovators of power metal.

Members today are Andi Deris – Vocals, Michael Weikath – Guitar, Backing vocals, Sascha Gerstner – Guitar, Backing vocals, Markus Grosskopf – Bass, Backing vocals and Daniel Löble – Drums

The original line-up featured Kai Hansen (Vocals/Guitars), Michael Weikath (Guitars), Markus Grosskopf (Bass) and Ingo Schwichtenberg (Drums). In 1984 the band had signed a deal with Noise Records and recorded two songs for a Noise compilation record called Death Metal. The two tracks were “Oernst Of Life” by Weikath, and Hansen’s “Metal Invaders” which later on ended up in a faster version on the bands first full-length album.

1985 came around and Helloween then recorded their first record Helloween, a self-titled EP containing 5 tracks. The EP was successful, and during that same year they recorded and released their first full-length album titled Walls of Jericho which became a critical smash, with its innovative mixture of speed and melodies. (In Fact, WWE Wrestler Chris Jericho took his stage name from the album, as well as the name of his signature submission move Walls Of Jericho).

Hell, i like the new album. It's a great way to do a "Best of" cd. It's not the same old crap that was available before, and it's interesting. The Keeper's trilogy is also brilliant! That song itself is enough to get the album.

Seriously how are they screwing their classics up? They rearranged them for the purpose of an album, its not like they destroyed the originals and you can never hear them again.. they still exist, if you want to hear the originals then you can... I personally think Helloween did a good thing instead of just chucking songs together on a compilation they put in a hell of effort to rearrange and re-record them, i can't imagine the work that went into it compared to just sticking classics on a cd and labelling it a BEST OFF

There are some serious flaws in your understanding of Helloween's all-round tongue-in-cheek attitude if you state that they don't respect their classics and ruin them in Unarmed. :P If that is true metalheadism, I'm afraid you'd better stop listening to Helloween completely and instead only follow bands that deliver your kind of pure metal music.
