Headwork are definitely musicians with a 'No Limit' policy! They have a wide variation of influences, which gives them the space to be openly expressive. This is what enables them to produce the stirring rifts which have become Headwork's trademark sound.

So what does this all add up to? Well, in short… Catchy original rifts, combined with a dark commercial undertone, this best describes Headwork's music.

Band History:
In 1991 a group of Buckinghamshire based musicians hacked off with a stagnant and apathetic music scene, decided that they'd had enough and were driven to embark on a mission to stamp out musical mediocrity.

Headwork members Jay Porter, and Dean Woodington split from their previous band, and teamed up with bass guitarist Andy Clarke. However it was not until the year of 1994 that saw the introduction of singer/song writer Tony Dawe, adding a new dimension to this musical dynamic force.

Gaining popularity amongst an increasing global audience prompted the band in 1998 to launch an official website to satisfy the growing demand for their material.
Over time Headwork have produced an impressive portfolio of songs. Earning them recognition from well-known artists such as Jean-Jacques Burnel, and Paul Roberts of The Stranglers.

Headwork's influences are:
The Stranglers, U2, Coldplay, Creed, Alter Bridge, Radiohead, Blur, Manic Street Preachers, The Prodigy, Muse, The Verve, Elbow, Simple Minds, The Damned, Crisis, Killing Joke, Bikini Atoll, Cocteau Twins, The Police, Gong, Steve Hillage, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Gorillaz, Metalica, Foo Fighters, Big Country, Hugh Cornwell, Paul Oakenfold, Level 42, Bill Nelson, and Reggae artists such as, Black Uhuru, Sly & Robbie, Steel Pulse, Gregory Isaacs, and Lee Scratch Perry.

Why this name?
The name 'Headwork' was a word that was often used after several days of intense recording sessions. So it was not long before the band members adopted that phrase as the name of their band.

Anything else…?
So… What's the final verdict? "Well your honour, reliable intelligence sources have revealed that Headwork's course is set on a path to 'Infinity' and beyond…"
