Biography

Headtapes is the creative moniker for Gareth Wright a musician & artist from Coventry in the UK. Headtapes make music and art that is both sad & beautiful and dark but uplifting. Tracks are a mixture of dark pop songs and cinematic instrumentals. Influences include electronica, pop & shoegaze. Headtapes has been compared to artist such as M83, New Order, Clint Mansell and the more electronic side of Nine Inch Nails.

The current release is the 6 track EP Within These Walls released digitally on August 2010 via www.headtapes.com, iTunes, Amazons MP3 store and streaming on Spotify.

The limited edition CD version (only 50 copies made) was released October 2010, and comes packaged in a metal tin, hand numbered and decorated to make each one completely individual.

History:
The debut single Love Is Suicide was released in October 08 through Dogamusic Records, followed by the free digital single Cut & Paste in early 09.
In December 09 a taster for the forthcoming e.p. was made available for a limited period called ‘Sleepwalkers’.
