Biography

When Hayley Reardon first picked up a guitar in July 2008, this young songstress uncovered both a deep passion and an obvious natural talent, unleashing a flood of beautifully constructed, delicately phrased songs.

At 12 years old, Boston’s WUMB was first to publicly recognize her emerging talent as a winner at the 2009 Boston Folk festival Songwriting Contest. In the ensuing year this 13 year old has achieved additional recognition in numerous competitions including the YouTube/What’s Your Issue 2010 Music Video Competition, The North Atlantic Arts Alliance 7th Annual Songwriting Contest, and the 2010 Indiegrrl International Songwriting Competition.

She has released two EPs to date, her debut “Beautiful Simplicity” in late 2009, and her latest, “Hope You’re Smiling” released in October 2010. Both studio efforts were produced by recording veteran Seth Connolly (whose many credits include Lori McKenna’s acclaimed debut “Paper Wings & Halo”) and together they serve well to demonstrate the range of styles her now 90 plus compositions encompass. From the fully produced pop oriented title track “Beautiful Simplicity”, to the simple acoustic folk favorite “Stand Together” (see the Live at Passim video), to the real country feel of “Permanent Marker Promise” that has caught the attention of Nashville’s Music Row, it’s hard to predict where her musical exploration will lead.
