Lord of Light (3:55)

Cover of Stasis - The U.A. Years 1971-1975

From Stasis - The U.A. Years 1971-1975 and 34 other releases

An optimistic song about future space travel and exploration. Very epic in its scope, dealing in very big themes and painting a very vivid mind-scape.

Upon this hill shall cast no fear
Of lines that match across the world
For travel which no man has ever heard

Right now, I'm hearing a shitty re-recorded version. Sounds like it's from the 90s, at a guess. When will Dave Brock leave off on the crappy rehashes? They just released a shit version of 'You'd Better Believe It' on their new LP, and re-recording Calvert's amazing vocal on 'Spirit of the Age' with a TV presenter was the worst idea ever. Why shit on your own legacy?

We all need a bit of Hawkwind. Sometimes you can forget just how brilliant they are at doing their chuggy, spacy, heavy rock thing and then something like this comes on. Nobody does it better.........
