Harvey Danger is a rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1992, and rose to prominence in 1998 with the single “Flagpole Sitta”, from their debut album “Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?”. The band released a new album in 2005, Little by Little…, after the five year hiatus that followed the release of their sophomore album “King James Version”. Harvey Danger has a devoted cult following but is widely considered to be a one-hit wonder, mainly due to limited mainstream radio airplay and a lack of decent record deals.

The band is little known in Europe, for the same reasons but also because the band focuses on selling themselves in America (especially Seattle), thus making it very difficult for fans to get albums in Europe. The original drummer Evan Sult moved to Chicago and now drums in the band Bound Stems. He has been replaced by Michael Welke, formerly of the band No. 226.
The single ‘’Flagpole Sitta’’ is also the theme song to the popular British comedy show ‘Peep Show’.

As of May 28, 2009, they announced on their website they’ve called it quits. According to them their decision was mutual and they feel the band has run its course.

Sean Nelson was hilarious, the setting was intimate, and they put on a fantastic show with special appearances by Ben Gibbard and Jon Brion. afterwards the show moved to the Largo's "Little Room", which is basically a bar with a tiny stage and a piano. it was the kind of intimacy you can only get by going to open mics at coffee shops, but it was Sean Nelson, Jon Brion, and friends playing for us. Sean demoed some of the solo material he's working on and plans to tour maybe next year for its release. I'm so excited. you other Harvey Danger fans around the globe better support him when that happens. trust me, you won't want to miss out on this amazing performer. Long live Harvey Danger!

I hope the band decides to revisit things in a few years. Since hearing Little By Little, I've really wanted to see them live. I'm pretty disappointed that I can't make these shows. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done after something that great, truly.
