Andy's 2-hour August show includes top new tunes from the likes of Disclosure, Boards of Canada, Victories at Sea, Gabriel Bruce, Azure Blue, London Grammar, Jagwar Ma and Alex Canasta. There's an inspired cover version from Peace and two more tracks Samuraj Cities' latest album 'Metallic'. You'll also hear a live track by New Order recorded at last year's Bestival music festival on the Isle Of Wight, plus Andy goes on location to The Great Salterns Mansion pub on Langstone Harbour with Scott to introduce his Funky Five Minutes for the month.
Two shows again this month. The regular show is in a summery mood and is there is also another vinyl train ride.
'Some correct info. Honest!'
Just like last month, a shorter (two hour) summer show from Marcelle. Dressed in a bikini (honest!) she plays new vinyl from amongst others Fishstix, Battista, BonerM, Kode9, Demdike Stare and Lurka.
Welcome re-issues come from not least than 49 (honest!) Americans and Muslimgauze…
22 Aug 2012, 01:12 by HandzarThu 2 Aug – 20th Monteparadiso hardcore punk festival
16 Aug 2010, 17:57 by AndersGBLast weekend, I went for the 3rd year to the punk & skinhead Rebellion Festival 2010, in Blackpool, UK.
This can easily be described as the foremost annual oi-music festival in Britain, and its held at the winter gardens in Blackpool, a venue designed for ballroom dancing! Spread over six stages and four days, from early afternoon to late night, over 200 live performances were made. As the weekend ticket sold originally for £80 (GBP), this meant each act could be seen for as little as 40p each - of course trying to see them all would mean a lot of running around!
Personally I had highlighted 18 acts I wanted to see, from the programme, which I downloaded the night before the festival; and I had already 3 clashes! (Un)Fortunately one of those acts, Krawallbrüder cancelled and their middle-aged substitutes The Hooligans were not exactly what I would call a crowdpuller! That said…
