(1)1998 Australian five-piece
(2)2007 ambient-glitch producer from Brighton, UK

(1)Halogen is a five-piece band from Perth, Western Australia. Formed in 1998 by two expatriate New Zealanders - Jasmine Yee and Frans Bisschop - the band first gained national prominence in Australia through the song “Hole Around My Heart” from their “Somewhere You’re Alone” recording. With the release of the single “Walkaway” and an accompanying tour of Australia’s east coast (including a showcase performance at the Australian Music Week), the band furthered their claim for national attention. The single received solid airplay on national broadcaster Triple J and a follow up came in the form of “On A Bridge”. Both singles found their way onto the band’s debut album “Save the Ones You Love”. Rather than take a traditional recording approach for their follow up album “Building On The Edge Of The Sky”, songwriters Jasmine Yee and Frans Bisschops directed each composition to a different emerging producer. The result was a brilliant, if somewhat eclectic, recording taking Halogen away from the brooding guitars that previously typified their sound and into the realm of electronica.

woah there, timetunnel. I understand you favour the perth band, but if you look at the stats, the apparently 'completely unknown' Halogen has had the most plays over the past 12 months. Also, i asked personally about making a separate page for the profile, and they informed me to upload the music as you normally would and add the 1) and 2) descriptions. Not much you can do about multiple band names, look at Mono, for instance!

Perth Halogen's album 'Building On The Edge Of The Sky' is one of the most important records of teenagehood to me and two other kids from my hometown.

For some reason have set up a vote (see under the band description) to change Halogen's name to Halo_gen, possibly merging it with another page unrelated to the Perth band. Please vote to make sure this excellent band keep their correct name, this is one of the few pages about where they aren't confused with other bands.
