Höllenboer was formed by Gerard Oosterlaar and Bas van den Toren in 1993. They released their debut album, “Muj goed kiek’n wa’k zeg”, the same year. Two years later their second album, “Het Busje Komt Zo”, which contained the equally named number one hit single. Their last album, “Vot met die pröttel”, was released in 1998. The duo announced their farewell in 2000, followed by a farewell concert on April 28th that year. However, Höllenboer has been giving (incidental) performances since.
Most of the songs of Höllenboer are performed in their own dialect, the dialect from Salland, a region in the west of the Dutch province Overijssel. Most of the lyrics were written by Oosterlaar, while Van den Toren wrote most of the music.
