Just the right balance of delicate and creepy. Perfect into-the-unknown sound. Voices at the end, yikes... goosebumps.

Sang in this once, with a relay conductor and hidden behind a screen. We left the room and went down some stairs and outdoors before we stopped singing the final two chords, then the clock chimed. Unplanned but awesome.

I know there are different versions of the planets, and some are just lame. But if you have the right one... I think mine is London Symphony Orchestra, probably from 80's or early 90's... and this song, when the voices come in.. is the creepiest thing ever. I imagine freefalling into Neptune from space, everything feels so cold, dark, and far away.

That place in the universe where Danny Elfman stole music to make his crappy soundtracks. Holst was brilliant though so I guess you can't blame him.

I've turned up to many a concert, just to wait for the very end to sing the choral bit of this backstage. Sang it in broom cupboards and everything..lol
