Welcome to the Jungle (4:32)
From Appetite for Destruction and 68 other releases
“Welcome to the Jungle” is the first track from Guns N’ Roses’ debut album, Appetite for Destruction, and also on their Greatest Hits album. The song peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their first significant hit single.
The song was written by lead singer Axl Rose and was inspired by an encounter he had when first moving to L.A. someone walked up to him and said “You know where you are? You’re in the jungle baby, you’re gonna die!”
Not really. What actually happened was that Slash, came p with a riff and Axl had lyrics that popped into his head, so he started singing them. This is according to Slash in his book.
This song appeared on Guitar Hero 3.
