Ground to Dust began in 2007 as an instrumental electronic project by Antidote For Annie creator paTrick with the release of a seven track self-titled EP. Drawing primarily on the influences of Industrial, EBM and Synth-Pop, but also including some Noise, Drum and Bass, Ambient and even Classical sounds, the project soon made its way to the front of the New England dark electronic scene. Tracks such as Digging My Way Out, Filthy and Separate made appearances along the East Coast, and were even heard nationally thanks to programs such as WMNFs Dark Horizons (Tampa, FL), The Ungodly Hour and Normality, both out of California and heard on the internet via Rant Radio Industrial.
In 2008 Ground to Dust made several live appearances in Boston, including Dracula’s Bowl and THUDfest (Unter Null, C/A/T and Synnack) and performed in Portland, ME with Colony 5 and Head-Less.
In January ‘09 Leanne joined the fold, bringing her vocal styles to the project, with her inaugural show being as opener for Seabound and De/Vision.
As lead singer of Ground to Dust, Leanne draws from a range of influences from Shirley Manson of Garbage, to NIN, Kidney Thieves, Snake River Conspiracy, Evanescence, and Tool. Her power driven melodies are inspired from her edgy eclectic tastes, kicked up by industrial dominance and an ear for seductive mastery.
The first full-length, Everything Ends: A Cycle of Entropy and Regneration, was released Oct. 13, 2009.
