Biography

Siloam Springs AR, United States

Grady Nichols was born in the non-jazz community of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He was exposed to Smooth Jazz via The Weather Channel on TV and was especially inspired by David Sanborn.

From this unlikely beginning, he has recorded multiple CDs, performed at the first Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards Show, appeared on BET Jazz, and has toured coast to coast and through the Caribbean, receiving accolades from media critics and fans alike along the way.

I don't know that I would admit to finding Smooth Jazz through The Weather Channel. That's sort of like saying you grew to like Muzak while riding on elevators. Sort of reminds me of Steve Martins character The Jerk who one night discovers white-peoples music on the radio-- so bland and relaxing!
