Coming back after only 6 months, Gotan Project played at Via Funchal once again.
Despite the irresponsive audience, the show was fantastic. Full of stage light effects and two different video projections synchronized with the music, they played the best songs of their two albums, including Época, Diferente, Queremos paz, El Capitalismo Foraneo, Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre), Mi Confesión and Triptico. I think the only downpoint was the absence of Frank Zappa's cover of Chunga's Revenge.
One of the highlights of the concert was the presentation of the musicians with Michael Jackson's Billie Jean beat with a tango arrangement on the background. You can see that below, in one of the videos I recorded. I guess it was one of the very few moments the crowd actually stood up and danced a little.
In summary, this show is definitely going to be on my top 10 concerts of 2007. Now I can't wait to see Chris Cornell next Thursday. ;D
