The gentleman who plays the outstanding electric guitar in this song passed away last month. His name was Terry Clements. I took my youngest daughter to see Gordon Lightfoot last September. We had great seats. My little eight year old loved seeing Terry play this song and Gordon singing it. She prayed on November 10th for the people who died. If Gord hadn't memorialized them with this song, she never would have known what happened.

In 1975, I was in a tour boat on the lochs (spelling) in Salt St. Marie when the Edmund Fitzgerald pulled in behind us. Didn't realize until after the tragedy and my mom got the pictures developed. I got goosebumps.

Was disappointed to see this song misspelled on Gord's offical MySpace website. Not cool, for such a CLASSIC song.
