there's an alternate version of the album with "fucking face" in tact, I can get you an MP3 of it if you wish. his label was kind of hard-assed about it being clean. as for the record itself, I think it's brilliant. nothing "middle-of-the-road" IMHO, I think it's possibly one of the best singer/songwriter records of the last 20 years, fantastic batch of songs and John's prooduction, coupled with Steven Miller and Bob Clearmountains mixing was a match made in heaven. this was the record I always hoped Glen would make. his voice has never sounded better. too bad the label effed up and ruined it's chances. could have been big.

I like Glen's music a lot, but I still have to warm up to this one. It has a very middle of road-ish production. When I hear the songs without the production I like them much better. This especially the case for Easier. In that song the lyrics were even "polished" by removing "cut off my own fucking face".
