Gilamesh is a colaborative project between electronic musician and samplist Paul Darlington of RSI/Rayspark Industries fame and bassist Robbie Azaraz of Dubscape fame. Producing Drum n bass experiments in-between which Dub, Techno and Trip Hop make a timely appearance. A one off performance in a Post Office was the groups only appearance. Who are they? They are not from this world.

Robbie would like to dedicate the Gilamesh album to Violet Florence Holmes who sadly died four years ago. She was a mentor to Robbie and always encouraged him in his music and got him into music from an early age.

Robbie adds:
I met rayspark in a pub in cheshire where the great frodsham socialite and johnny five o macavoy drank and also a group of people who called themselves the A crowd i was introduced to rayspark by johnny five o at the time i was involved in a couple of bands playing guitar and bass but also had in interest in electronic music we exchanged demos and later spoke of doing a project together and gilamesh was born although at the time our musical styles were quite different rayspark was very experimental using very erratic beats and strange sounds where as i was more influenced by dub but somehow it all came together worked quite well…

It's ok, but I don't think the album quite lives up to the title. Sounds pretty down to earth to me. Still it is definitely something I would listen to more than once, which is a lot more than I can say about other music like this. It's well thought out and has some tasty sounds, keep it up guys.

Good stuff! I loved RSI and this new project has some great sampels ( which I love in elctronic music ). Also it is not too much D&B and still holds its own tempo in between. When will you be coming to a Post Office in Holland :P
