Gil Semedo Moreira is a singer from Cabo Verde and is one of the main interpreters of the Caboswing, a musical genre closely related to Kizomba and Zouk. It is also closely related to Funana and Coladera.
Semedo was born in the city of Chäo de Tanque on the island Santiago, but lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, since he was six. When he was a teenager, he formed his own band and won the very popular Dutch televised song contest Soundmix Show with a impersonation of Michael Jackson.
Shortly after, he published his first album 'Menina'(Girl), with which he gained great succes in Portugese countries.
Due to a traffic accident some 5 years ago, where he lost a limb, he is not able to dance like he did then, but he has grown in his abilities as a singer.
In total, he has released 10 albums and performs world wide. His last album Nha Vitória (My Victory) celebrates, his succes, his 15 years a a singer, despite the accident, and his signing at a new company, MB Records.
