Ghosts in the Valley is a post-punk/alternative band from Philadelphia, PA formed in the summer of 2008. They borrowed the philosphy of The Minutemen vowing to “jam econo” - writing songs in the 2 to 3 minute range and recorded them live with minimal overdubs. Apparently successful, early reviews compared them to not only The Minutemen, but fellow SST labelmates Husker Du and Dinosaur Jr as well as east coast kindred spirits Fugazi.
Their debut album, Subtle as a Brick, was recorded in the summer of 2009 and released in January 2010. In the spring of 2011 they recorded their follow up album with legendary producer Steve Albini.
