Northampton, United Kingdom (2011 – present)

Ghostree are Haydon Spenceley, Allie Kelly and Ben Lewis (who all played together previously in different versions of Freeslave) and Mark Halliday on drums. They formed in 2011.

“I love being in bands, especially when I get to be in bands with awesome people, and this band is certainly full of awesome people.” - Haydon Spenceley

On the 29th of June 29th 2011, they headed from Northampton, UK to Nashville, TN, to record with Kevin Bruchert and Brandon Perdue of Viking Productions for their debut record. Haydon blogged about their experiences there on Louder Than The Music. This album was released on the 6th of February 2012. Previews can be streamed via their blog.

“Ghost Tree: evocative name isn’t it. What’s it about? Is it about a tree? Is it about a ghost? Is it about something spiritual? Is it just a really random band name? The name, like the debut, self-titled EP, asks a lot of questions, about life, faith, God, hope, despair and a fair other things in between. “Some of the greatest times in life come when we’re searching”, says frontman Haydon Spenceley. “All of us are looking for identity, purpose, meaning for our lives. Our hope, as a band, is that through our songs, our shows and the way we live our lives, people can be brought to the foot of the Ghost Tree, and meet the one who gives us our true identity, our true purpose, the true meaning for our lives, the one for whom we exist.
