Get Help is a veritable supergroup of unknown musicians. Formed by Tony Skalicky of Boston, MA’s beloved The Beatings, and Mike Ingenthron of NYC’s beloved Microdot, Get Help was started as a side-project as Skalicky and Ingenthron took a break from touring with their own bands.

Originally conceived as an exchange of ideas over email, Get Help quickly evolved into a blog, a band, and an album. And then another album.

Get Help’s debut, The End of the New Country, was released on Midriff Records in October 2008, and was hailed by National Public Radio as “inspired beauty”. That pretty much made Get Help’s day.

Since the release of that album, Get Help has solidified its lineup with the addition of Gene D’Avolio on drums and John Van Atta on bass. The follow-up, The Good Green Earth, is a rock album about, among other things, closure and new beginnings. It is chock full of Get Help’s trademark guitar hooks, memorable lyrics, and quirky melodies. It will be released on Midriff Records in May 2011.

Get Help still maintains the Get Help Blog, which is updated by Skalicky and Ingenthron and features home recordings, demos, and outtakes.
