George Henry Richardson was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1944, moved to Arkansas in diapers where he was raised with his mom and dad and 3 brothers, Skip, Bob and Pete. There was always music in the house due to Skip talking mom and dad into buying a Hi-Fi record player in the 50’s. Early influnces were whatever Skip put on the turntable, Peggy Lee, Vic Damone, Frank Sanatra, even Mario Lanza. In 1958 George got to his first music concert…big brother Skip took him to see Elvis at the Robinson Auditorum in Little Rock, needless to say it changed his life. George now lives in San Antonio, Tx. Spends a lot of time with friends in Austin and plans to move there in the near future. His music is a mix of several genres, not to be pigeon holed to one particular type, he enjoys country, jazz, rock and anything with a good beat or good lyric. Favorite singer/songwriters are John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Tom Prasado-Rao, Guy Clark and Willy Nelson. Give old George Henry a listen, he’s retired and considers music the best hobby in the world…you can find George around the campfires at the Kerrville Folk Festival or at his camp “Stew’s Place”.
