“That was the song, when I left from the ‘Let It Be’ movie, there’s a scene where Paul and I are having an argument, and we’re trying to cover it up. Then the next scene I’m not there and Yoko’s just screaming, doing her screeching number. Well, that’s where I’d left, and I went home to write ‘Wah-Wah.’ It had given me a wah-wah, like I had such a headache with that whole argument. It was such a headache.” Interview, Crawdaddy Magazine, February 1977

On the album, the “O’Hara-Smith Singers” are credited on this track. Speaking with Songfacts about this song in an interview, keyboard player Bobby Whitlock who played on Wah-Wah, said the “O’Hara-Smith Singers” were he and Clapton.

WAH WAH was the first song George Harrison perfomed at his August 1, 1971 CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH, at Madison Square Garden, NYC.

This is my favorite recording from the concert… What an awesome lineup!

George, Ringo, Eric Clapton, Badfinger (Pete Ham, Tom Evans, Joey Molland & Mike Gibbins), Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Klaus Voorman, Jim Keltner, Jim Horn, Bob Dylan.

PS - RIP John & George

Wah-wah
You've given me a wah-wah
And I'm thinking of you
And all the things that we used to do
