Roger Dean's cover (Red Octopus) was the original for the UK release. The Octopus Jar cover was released in the USA. .... .... oh and @meatbees I think you'll find that there are many people on last.fm who were "alive" when Octopus first came out. But it excellent news that lots of joung'uns have rediscovered Gentle Giant.

Knots is such an amazingly intricate work. I love it! And I really like the "octopus in the jar" cover, especially since it is a shaped cover. That's something you cannot do with CD covers.

@ Meatbees...Yes, I was 13, my older brother got the album when it first came out, and then I was given it, I still have the scratch free album, I copied it onto a tape to save the album...and yes, I still like to hear it even though I prefer heavier stuff...oh, and the red Octopus is the better artwork

IMO it does not matter in which cover this tunes are. The sound matters, nothing else. And it sounds great.
