Biography

Genticorum consists of the three Canadians: Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand (flute, bass, vocal), Yann Falquet (guitar, jew’s harp, vocal) and Pascal Gemme (fiddle, feet/stepping, vocal).

The group has its origin from the primarily French-speaking Canadian province of Quebec; their repertoire is mostly Quebecois folk, influenced by Celtic and other world folk traditions.

The group began playing together for fun in 2000, at local parties and friend’s houses, and from those humble beginnings grew into international ambassadors of Quebecois folk.

Just saw them on an arts program on the teev... It was brilliant. They played Cascou. I just found La Belle En Vous Aimant. It's truly wonderful! Wish I could see them live in Canberra on Friday... But, I'll be watching other live music. And making my own. (what a shame...)
