According to the Singin’ In The Rain Songfacts Gene Kelly, who was sick with a cold, performed this famous rain drenched dance number in the Singin’ In The Rain movie over two days while struggling with a fever of 103 degrees. The rain was made up of a blend of water and milk to make sure it showed up on camera.

I'm sorry, but I just can't stop thinking about that Clockwork Orange-scene whenever I hear this... so sorry, Gene :D

It's sad that people associate this song with Clockwork Orange. While I love that movie, I think it belittles the legacy of Singing in the Rain. One of the truly great films of the 1950's. It's a shame that the version here on is some bubblegum arrangement from the 1970's.
