Version 18

Gay Ghost are an American Rock/Alternative/Pop trio based in Portland, Oregon. They were formed in 2010 by front man Joe Mormann (guitar/vocals) from the ashes of his previous group, The Glib. In 2009 Mormann sent a 55-song demo to Matt Brown of Portland’s Bladen County Records. He convinced Joe and drummer Geoff Schlemm to move to Portland so they could get their young, confused career pointed in the right direction. Their new self-titled debut was influenced by a wide range of artists, including Nirvana, Nick Cave, Guided By Voices, and David Bowie. It features the best of the demos recorded by Geoff and Joe in their basement in 2010. They are now recording their first real attempt at an album with bassist Kristen McKenzie and producer/engineer Michael Miew. Its release is set for late 2011.
