Gay Dad were one of the last UK Brit rock bands to be launched in the late 1990s. They generated massive media interest and had moderate chart success but they failed to sustain their popularity and broke up in 2002. The original line-up consisted of rock critic Cliff Jones (guitar/vocals), James Riseboro (keyboards), Nigel Hoyle (bass), Charley Stone (guitar) and Nicholas Crowe (drummer).

  • @unfazed - I have a few-songs-heard snooty personal prejudice going against Silversun Pickups, so I don't know. But part of the anti feeling has to do with what I hear as their abuse of elements of Smashing Pumpkins, so I know at least that part is in the mix! I'll give each of their albums a run through to see if I hear the song that was Gay Dadesque. Friends have been wanting me to give Silversun Pickups more of a chance for a long time, so I can kill two birds there. Thanks very much for suggesting a place for me to look, listening-wise.
