Gai Barone is Gaetano Barone, electro/prog-house/trance DJ and producer from Italy. An exceptional talent, his other aliases include Gaetano Barone and Gai. Born 34 years ago, he started playing the piano at age 4. He kept on playing until he heard the club sound in 1989 and fell in love with house music, especially acid house.
By 1990, he was Djing all over Italy, playing tracks from progressive to techno. By 1995 he was producing elementary and minimal tracks using F-tracker, an old but serviceable piece of software.
From this time on, however, music was his life. As stated on his Ask4 bio, ‘he lives with music and for music.’ In 1998, he moved to Germany, then to England, where he learned the ‘techno culture.’ He continued to produce better tracks, which ranged from chill-out to hard trance. In 2008 he chose to concentrate on prog and trance sounds; his debut was the remix of “Memento - Whitenite” for Navigation Records.
Later, his first EP, “Solegirasoli” was signed to Ultimate House Records; the one following immediately, “Moving” was out on Mesmerized Records and reached number 13 in the Audiojelly Prog/Tribal Chart.
A collaboration with Ask4 Records brought Gai forward another step in his career. “Appetite’ is a massive prog trance tune and marks the success he has been dreaming of for so long. An energetic and frenetic foray into sound and emotion, ‘Appetite’ is a treat for the ears, the mind and the soul.
