Satriani and Malmsteen began playing the day Jimi Died. How weird is that?

Stevie Ray Vaughn's isn't half bad either. Jimi's meant more because of when it came out. Yes, it's also FANTASTIC!!!!

WAOOO! Another great version, great job, great tribute to a masterpiece... agree with ticffross and JoKittyMoon. You can't improve on the raw, soulful feeling of the original.... GERRYGUITAR hits the point... the legend lives on!

First, it was Jimi. Then I heard Stings version, then Stevie's and now G3. Every one is excellent in their own way. Ahh, but Jimi was so, so, bluesful. (Is that a word?)

Then... ther is the original idea , concept and performance... which cannot be bettered ... no matter how more advanced are the guitars, effects, production or even technical abilty... you can't improve on the raw, soulful feeling of the original.... and another thing, imagine that Jimi had lived to today! How would he have inspired, improved and influenced today's guitarists... also the collaberations? The mind boggles! Why do you think that all the greatest guitarists in the World today... still end their concerts with a tribute to Hendrix? R.I.P. Jimi!
