Biography
members of the band:
production/arrangement: René Müller
vocals: Melanie Güntzschel
arrangement/organisation/lyrics: Mario Fritzsche
lyrics: Gunnar Bock
The time has come for the Davantage boys to reveal their new side-project featuring female singer Melanie G. Future Trail offers an interesting combination of unique female vocals (I might maybe compare to Propaganda for the mood or the very first steps of Sonja with L’Ame Immortelle for the German tone) and melodic upbeat EBM music. In this genre, songs like “Escape”, the very carrying “Greyhound Song” and its trancey sounds, “Snake River or yet the lovely 80’s-like “Titan” are all definitely good examples to discover the band’s talent. To avoid that boredom sets up, Future Trail also intermixed the high bpm tracks with smoother melancholic pieces recovering you with warm wafting synth layers. If “Big Sky Horizon” is a decent debut album, we feel that the female singer still has to feel comfortable in order to take more challenges and exploit her expression mode to the maximum. I only perceived her at best on a song like “Desert Lake” for example where she dares alternating spoken words and sung parts. Choruses in general could be more underlined and strengthened for a maximum enjoyment, but if you like modern cold wave electronics with female vocals, give it a try!
