Keiji always appears bleeding ridiculous on a first listen - can anyone really take things this seriously? But the more you listen, the more he gets under your skin. The first two live albums are just essential- true blues for the 21st century. Pathetique too. I coming round to some of the later stuff.

the brotzz collab hurts my brain, but in kind of a good way. it's a bit of an endurance test. still, their old live album is pretty awesome.

Well, I don't think Hikari to Nazukeyo is very good, but Mabushii Itazura Na Inori on the other hand is well worth checking out.

well looks like the album lineup differs from the live or the actual lineup. event the event organisers seemed to have overlooked that one. Chiyo Kamekawa on bass and Ryosuke Kiyasu on drums. also, pics of current lineup now uploaded

I was a bit sceptic about this new Fushitsusha incarnation, but the gig I saw last week was one the very best I've ever seen of Haino. Rather than just being insanely loud with Haino drowning out everyone else on stage like he usually does, he was a true conductor of his band. Two hours and it didn't bore me for a minute. Their set had had lots of nuances and a subdued quality througout.

new album is rock and roll [2] Fucking ace stuff. It's great that he's still performing with such ferocity and energy at the age of 60. No sign of him slowing down for the foreseeable future, on the basis of this release :)
